Colin - Fotoshoot

Welcome to colin's photo site.

This is largely a Photographs taken by me (Colin Puddephatt) or possibly my lovely wife: Paula Puddephatt. And usually manipulated by me.

Having expierenced cheap sixties cassette cameras - very briefly (and had a very quick go with an old 1950's box camera(Kodak) I bought my first camera (proper-1975) - a Practica LB 35mm SLR with fixed 50mm & 100mm lenses. I could not afford much film at that point( with £0.175p an hour evening paperround = £1.05 a week),  but it was bought for £30 from my only and elder brother, Graham, who was upgrading his kit. This period was very influencial and he showed me a few basics, tried to explain apetures etc but did manage to give me some black & white dark room expierence (in our family home loft). Not many of these photos survive but it gave me a taste ......and i was hooked.

In about 1983 I needed a hobby to keep me going The Practica went wrong for some reason- I can't recall). I chose a new Canon AE-1 Program with 50mm Canon lens, adding a Bell & Howell zoom lense slightly later , then a 24mm (second hand) Canon fixed lens and then later when I bought a second hand Canon T90 35mm SLR camera plus a Tamron 28mm-80mm lens plus Canon Spedelite flashes for both (1 second hand).

I used these from 1983 (approx) to 1999 quite successfully. And for 4 seasons was a member to Woodley Camera Club.

In 2000 I traded them in for a Minolta 404si 35mm SLR camera with 75mm-300mm Minolta lens. I moved to Basingstoke on October 12th 2000 and joined the "Snaps!" team the January 2002.

The Shaw Trust has been very good to me both with the Garden project (Shaw Trust Horticulture-formerly Artisans) and Shaw Trust "Snaps!" Photographic Group, which is unique part of the Shaw Trust.

My wife, Paula, & I also visit places of interest and leisure which we actually attatched the name "Foto-Shoot"...

Our main place of activity has been BirdWorld in Farnham on the Surrey/Hampshire bordersince June 2005. The birds are beautiful and we enjoy sharing the days with them. Jenny Wren Farm is also attatched as part of the entrance fee as is Under Water World and there is a short show in the Heron Theatre, also on site. There is the South of Englands' biggest garden centre next door too.

We have been to the Hawk Conservatory in Thruxton, Wiltshire too. Also Marwell Zoo near Winchester, Hampshire. As you might tell we like animals very much and feel they are like us part of the planet Earth & surrounding Universe package that God let us take part in.

Anyway, Enjoy the photos- I shoot for pleasure only!

Thank you for your time

Bye for Now

Colin Puddephatt
